London Calling was the third studio album by English rock band The Clash. It was first released 14 December in 1979. The album has often been mentioned as one of the greatest albums of all time, including a ranking of number eight on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2003.
The opening track to the album was the title track "London Calling" it was partly influenced by the nuclear reactor accident at Thee Mile Island in Pennsylvania. It also mentions issues with riding unemployment, racial conflict and drug in Great Britain.
40 years later British Prime Minister Boris Johnson claims his favourite band is The Clash. Fans of The Clash were understandingly not happy and they took to twitter show the bullshit. If only Joe Strummer was alive this day to see his reaction.
